Have you ever felt like you aren’t doing enough? Or maybe you are to everyone else but YOU know YOU want more out of life? Maybe you feel like you are growing, but want more! Yep, that’s me, I am a “What’s Next” type of person which could be a good and bad thing.
Sometimes in life, you reach a point where you feel like you want more but what exactly is more… I am not talking about tangible items you know like experiences, knowledge, a healthy group of friends, having self-worth, finding your true happiness, things money can’t buy. Your circumstances should not define you and your small failures should not distract you from your bigger goal. (If you haven’t set any goals, I challenge you to set some today) Going after the life you truly want is not easy, it is actually hard, but so worth it; understand everything will not work out how you want it to, things will often go wrong, people will not fall through on their promises, you won’t have enough money to do certain things. Adversity happens to everyone, especially those trying to do the right things, but it is up to you to turn every situation into an opportunity.
Furthermore, it’s life and as long as you know you don’t want to stay where you are, the small things won’t phase you anymore because you know you are working towards something so much bigger. I still get frustrated myself, but you have to believe and trust everything will work out. When I graduated college, I was positive I had enough experience to land a full-time position in my field – nope, a year after graduation I was jobless, still interning and I just knew I had grown past that point in my life. I didn’t understand why jobs, I was sure to be qualified for, wasn’t giving me the chance I knew I deserved and essentially worked hard for…I had to swallow my pride and do what I had to do to stay afloat. Working internships just for the experience, along with part-time gigs that I knew I was overqualified for. That time actually made me realize that sometimes you’re going to have to do things you don’t want to do, to get where you want to go. All things considered, that time of my life gave me the perspective I didn’t have and forced me to refocus on what I thought I wanted out of this thing called LIFE.
Whatever you want to do, (like me relaunching my website and rebranding myself) JUST DO IT. The last couple of years I’ve been on a self-help journey where I am constantly trying to learn and unlearn some things.
Everyone’s timing is different, what’s for you will always be for you! Try not to compare yourself or doubt yourself because you don’t understand why certain things aren’t working out when or how you thought they would. Stay your course, be patient, have faith and most importantly never give up.
I am writing this blog post to essentially let you know to always be open to new things and never be content with the life you are currently living
